Bone Strength Enhancement

Osteoporosis model rats were administered milk calcium alone or in combination with B. longum BB536. The rats given milk calcium in combination with B. longum BB536 achieved greater bone strength than those given milk calcium only.
This effect is believed to have resulted from the functions of B. longum BB536 for maintaining intestinal health, which led to decreased intestinal pH levels and thus facilitated the absorption of calcium.
